Naturalist Art: From Pencil Drawing to Photoshop Artworks
Slow down and connect with nature by learning to observe and draw from its organic shapes and systems, patterns, and behaviours. Learn how to draw and compose a naturalistic illustration by combining animals, insects, rocks, or beach findings with botanical elements. In this illustration course you will experiment with drawings, monoprints and collages of ideas that narrate your approach to nature. We will play with drawing styles, explore different materials, approach colour theory and compositions. Our final work will take a step further into digital, accessing Photoshop to add text, effects, and image blends, resulting in a file ready for print.
*This upcoming illustration course will be taken in situ at the West Cork Campus in Skibbereen, January 2024 (the starting day will be released soon). The course will span over 6 evenings from 7 pm to 9 pm.
